Mesnevi is a short poetry in rhymed couplets. The book in six volumes by the emminent Sufi Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi is the most magnificent work of the Sufi spiritual culture under the Moslem sky written in the 13th century. The work opens with an astonishing Prelude in wich in a poetical form through the metaphor of nay are presented the virtues of the completed man, and it continues in six volumes with cathegorical thoughts ornamented with artistic forms, and a narration aiming to awaken the light of the man’s spirit.
